Congenital Heart Defects (CHD)
Congenital Heart Defects (CHD's) are issues with the structure of the heart that are present at birth
1 in 100 newborns are born with CHD
CHD's are 50 times more common than childhood cancer
CHD's are the most common birth defects
Around 85% of babies born with a CHD now live to at least age 18 but kids born with more severe CHD are less likely to reach adulthood
Most Causes of CHD are unknown
There is no cure. CHD requires lifelong care
